Tinubu’s 90-Day Relief Plan Is a Ploy to Lure Voters, ADC Says

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council accused President Bola Tinubu of using a 90-day cost-of-living relief plan to attract voters ahead of the 2027 election. Campaign communications director Phrank Shaibu said the vote is 86 days away, so the plan would end after Nigerians have voted, and urged voters to judge Tinubu by his record. He also criticized rising costs following the removal of the petrol subsidy and questioned the NNPC’s ₦66-per-litre discount, saying he paid ₦1,405 per litre at a station. Shaibu called on NNPC to disclose who benefited from the discount and raised concerns about an “Arise for Tinubu 2027” registration form requesting personal and bank details.
