Togo: 6.3% Growth, Controlled Inflation, but Hunger Persists

Togo experienced an average growth of 6.3% in 2024, with inflation reduced to 3.1%. The country's debt increased from 3,337 to 4,217 billion FCFA, accounting for 63.2% of GDP. Despite economic progress and infrastructure projects, 58.5% of the population faces moderate or severe food insecurity, especially in Savanes and Kara regions. Poverty remains high in rural areas at 58.2%, and unemployment affects 61% of the active population, mainly women and rural residents.
