Togo: CFAF 2,744.2 billion proposed for the 2026 revised budget, with key changes

Adopted by the Council of Ministers on October 22, Togo’s proposed revised 2026 budget lowers total estimates to CFAF 2,744.2 billion, CFAF 7.3 billion below the initial budget, and puts the projected deficit at CFAF 247.6 billion. Budget revenues fall by CFAF 39.1 billion, mainly because of reduced project grants, while treasury resources rise as borrowing for projects increases. Ordinary expenditure is cut by CFAF 11 billion, including lower spending on goods and services, while capital expenditure increases by CFAF 12.9 billion.

Ojulari said the OB3 gas pipeline was completed and the AKK pipeline was expected to deliver gas to Abuja before the end of 2026. NNPC also targets national gas production of 10 billion standard cubic feet per day in 2027 and 12 billion in 2030, with investment agreements worth about $20 billion concluded for major projects.
