Togo: Festival of Black Divinities Announces 11th Edition for January 2027

The Festival of Black Divinities will hold its 11th edition in January 2027 in Aného-Glidji, with Côte d’Ivoire—particularly the northern city of Kouto—as its guest of honor and Brazil expected to participate. The announcement was made during the festival’s 20th-anniversary celebration on October 13, 2026, attended by Culture Minister Isaac Tchiakpé and Brazil’s ambassador, Luiz Ivaldo Villafañe Gomes. Founded in 2006 by Acofin, the festival aims to preserve African spiritual traditions and challenge prejudice against traditional religions. The association also wants to pass these traditions on to younger generations, potentially through an “Acofin Day” at schools in the Lakes prefecture.
