Togo: Kantè maternity ward modernized with a 528 million CFA franc investment

The Kantè Prefectural Hospital in Togo’s Kara region received an investment of 528.4 million CFA francs to upgrade its maternity ward, renovate the administrative block and provide biomedical equipment. Handed over to local health authorities last week, the equipment includes neonatal resuscitation kits, a fetal heart-rate detector and a blood bank with a capacity of 150 units. The project aims to improve care during pregnancy and childbirth and enable faster treatment of obstetric and neonatal emergencies. It is part of an 11 million euro program funded by German cooperation and the Togolese state, covering ten health facilities across seven prefectures in the Kara region.
