Toronto police officer shot while investigating attack on US consulate

Toronto police officer Marc Pinizzotto, 43, was shot and killed while executing a search warrant related to the March 2026 attack on the US consulate. Police chief Myron Demkiw said one suspect is in custody and another, 19-year-old Zara Jabbi, is at large and considered armed and dangerous. The March attack involved two individuals firing at the consulate, causing only external damage. Federal police are investigating whether it was a terrorist attack.
