On March 11, the Thai cargo ship Mayuree Naree was struck by two projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in a fire and the loss of three sailors. Meanwhile, a 'shadow fleet' of tankers continued to navigate these waters, using fake flags and disabled signals. Despite a US naval blockade imposed on April 13, an Al Jazeera investigation revealed that 202 voyages were made by 185 vessels between March 1 and April 15.
