Trader charged over use of fake invoices

Peterson Maina Waruhiu, director of Urotide Investment Limited, has been charged with tax fraud at the Milimani Law Courts for using fake invoices. He allegedly claimed fictitious purchases amounting to over Sh1 billion to fraudulently reduce his VAT liabilities of Sh125.4 million. Maina denied the charges and was released on a Sh5 million bond.
