Traditional leaders in Kasaï-Central have committed to abolishing traditional practices such as sanctions for adultery, early marriages, sororate, and levirate. This decision was announced during a community exchange organized by First Lady Denise Nyakeru, aimed at protecting the dignity of women victims of sexual violence. Hundreds of women suffered sexual violence during the Kamuina Nsapu armed conflicts, and customary authorities are committed to facilitating their reintegration into their families.
