The National Treasury has borrowed 41% of its annual target of Sh987.4 billion in just two months, with net borrowing of Sh406 billion in July and August. The August infrastructure bond issuance raised Sh312 billion, aiding this acceleration. In September, the Central Bank of Kenya plans to raise an additional Sh120 billion through two bond issuances, potentially pushing the total past 50% within the first quarter.
