Trials underway for plan to cut airfares across East Africa

The East African region is nearing a full rollout of Free Routes Airspace (FRA), with trials set to conclude in December. This system will unlock more destinations, shorten flight times, and save fuel for airlines, potentially leading to lower airfares. Currently, flights must adhere to predetermined fixed airways, which are often longer and contribute to high fuel costs.
