Troops from Operation Fansan Yamma and Department of State Services operatives arrested suspected terrorist Auta Maikyala on 5 November 2026 at a hospital in Kagarko, Kaduna State. He had reportedly gone there for treatment of a gunshot wound sustained in a clash with a rival faction; investigators accuse him of involvement in attacks, kidnappings and cattle rustling. In Zamfara State, troops swept through several villages, while Nigerian Air Force strikes targeted locations believed to be linked to wanted terrorist leader Dogo Gide. Maikyala remains in custody for investigation and prosecution, and military operations are ongoing.
