Troops broker peace between Plateau farmers, cattle owner over alleged farmland destruction - Daily Post Nigeria

Troops from Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) facilitated an amicable settlement between farmers and cattle herders in Gero Gyel District, Jos South, Plateau State, following a farmland destruction incident. Six cattle grazing on the farmland were intercepted on September 28, leading to a dialogue on September 29. An agreement was reached for the cattle to be returned to their owner, Yusuf Abubakar, and a compensation of 1 million Naira was agreed upon, with 750,000 Naira paid immediately and the remaining 250,000 Naira to be paid by October 12, 2026.
