Troops foil Boko Haram attack on Borno community, kill scores of insurgents

Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, foiled a Boko Haram attack in Kukawa, killing several terrorists during coordinated ground and air operations. The attack occurred on August 28, 2026, with troops neutralizing terrorists and recovering bodies and ammunition. The Air Component also conducted precision strikes, killing an additional 15 terrorists and destroying 10 motorcycles. Four military personnel were injured, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
