Troops foil terror plot in Katsina, Zamfara, neutralise nine

Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, foiled a planned attack and neutralised nine terrorists, including two identified kingpins, during coordinated operations in Katsina and Zamfara States between May 1 and 3, 2026. In Katsina, four terrorists were neutralised, and weapons and cash were recovered. In Zamfara, operations led to the neutralisation of three additional terrorists, supported by air reinforcements. One soldier lost his life during the engagements.
