Troops intercept military kit, arrest driver and passengers in Bauchi

Troops from the 33 Artillery Brigade intercepted a vehicle on the Ningi–Shamaki road in Bauchi State at about 9 a.m. on November 7, 2026. A search uncovered a bag containing desert boots, camouflage clothing and bandoliers. A female passenger had left the vehicle before the search, saying she needed to relieve herself in a nearby bush, and reportedly fled after the items were found; the other passengers said the bag belonged to her. The driver and remaining passengers were taken into military custody for investigation.
