Troops rescue nine kidnap victims in Katsina, arrest suspected terrorist, recover 56 rustled livestock

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma rescued nine kidnap victims (three women, four men, and two children) in Faskari Local Government Area, Katsina. The victims were abducted on July 9, 2026, along the Tsafe–Kuchere Road in Zamfara State and escaped while their captors slept. In a separate operation, troops recovered 56 rustled livestock (four cattle and 52 sheep) and arrested a suspected terrorist. The suspect and livestock are in military custody.
