Troops rescue seven kidnapped victims along Katsina road

Troops of the 17 Brigade, in collaboration with the Nigerian Police, rescued seven kidnapped victims along the Dayi–Malumfashi road in Katsina State. The rescue operation occurred at about 11:45 p.m. on September 21, 2026, when security forces intercepted a Volkswagen Golf 3 carrying the victims. The rescued individuals included six females, reportedly students of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, and the vehicle's driver, identified as Sani Umar.
