Troops uncover, dispose explosive device in Sambisa Forest

Troops of the 26 Task Force Brigade, Operation HADIN KAI, have discovered and safely disposed of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by suspected terrorists in a farming area of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State. The device was found at about 9:50 a.m. on July 15 during a fighting patrol at the Dagari area of the Sambisa Forest in Bama Local Government Area. Troops secured the area and disposed of the explosive in situ, eliminating the threat without incident. The operation is part of ongoing clearance and Counter-IED efforts under Operation HADIN KAI.
