Trump considers return of Russian gas to Europe in Ukraine peace plan

The Trump administration is considering including a resumption of Russian gas deliveries to Europe in a future Ukraine peace deal, according to the New York Times. Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff reportedly discussed the option with Ukrainian and European officials, as the European Union plans to end its purchases of Russian gas by 2027. Washington says renewed exports could encourage Moscow to end the war and generate revenue for Kyiv; Dmitry Peskov welcomed the idea, while some Europeans fear it could undermine their efforts. The resumption remains an option, not a concluded agreement.
