Trump defiant about midterm chances as he rallies for Republicans in Ohio

US President Donald Trump has continued campaigning for Republican candidates in Ohio, claiming there will be a 'big surprise' in the November midterm elections. He urged supporters to vote, asserting Republicans will outperform expectations despite polls indicating Democrats may gain ground. The Ohio Senate race features Republican Jon Husted against Democrat Sherrod Brown, amid rising fuel prices and economic tensions related to the US-Israel conflict. Trump, who received over 55% of Ohio’s vote in the 2024 presidential election, has seen his approval ratings decline due to economic concerns such as increased gasoline prices and tariffs affecting Ohio exports.
