Trump endorses Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s October 27 election

Donald Trump endorsed Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of Israel’s October 27 parliamentary election, praising the prime minister as a strong and brilliant partner. Netanyahu thanked Trump and said their cooperation had achieved significant results, while urging voters to help complete their mission against the Iranian threat. The election, Israel’s first since Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack, is widely seen as a referendum on Netanyahu’s leadership; opposition politicians accuse him of ignoring warnings before the assault. Djugu: At Least 16 Civilians Killed and More Than 24,600 Displaced by September Surge in Violence, OCHA Says

Renewed clashes between CODECO and the Convention for the Popular Revolution (CRP) in Djugu displaced more than 24,600 people in September 2026, according to an OCHA report published on October 15. At least 16 civilians were killed between September 27 and 30, with fighting affecting the Drodro, Fataki and Lita health zones. Most displaced people are staying with host families and need food, clean water and hygiene kits; the violence has also disrupted humanitarian work and a distribution intended for nearly 10,000 people. Movement restrictions are complicating the response to the active Ebola outbreak in Ituri, while the Rhoo displacement site, which already hosts more than 50,000 people, is receiving further arrivals.
