Trump launches midterms campaign blitz amid record low approval ratings

US President Donald Trump has launched a 32-day campaign tour to support Republican candidates ahead of the November midterm elections, with rallies in Texas and Oklahoma. At his first stop in Denton, he claimed his administration deserved an A+ and blamed unfair media coverage for his low approval ratings. Recent polls indicate 71% of Americans disapprove of the war on Iran, which has driven up fuel prices, and only 26% approve of Trump’s handling of the economy. The campaign is focused on addressing concerns over the economy and the Iran conflict affecting the upcoming elections.

Macky Sall at the UN: Diomaye Faye Lucky Charm or Burden? – La Nouvelle Tribune

Macky Sall received only five out of fifteen votes in the latest Security Council vote on September 29, five days after Bassirou Diomaye Faye's advocacy at the UN. Diomaye Faye, who urged member states to support Sall, claimed Senegal's backing, but some political groups and associations have expressed discomfort with this support. The race for Guterres' successor is led by other candidates such as Rebeca Grynspan, Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett, and Rafael Grossi.
