Turkana Nurse, Supplier Company to Face Charges Over Irregular Ksh2.76 Million County Payments

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has approved fraud charges against a Turkana County Government nurse, a supplier company, and its director over the acquisition and laundering of over Ksh2.76 million from a county tender. The suspects were arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), which found that the nurse used his position and the company to secure contracts and receive payments, then withdrew the funds in cash to conceal their source. The nurse faces additional charges of conflict of interest and money laundering under the Conflict of Interest Act, 2025.
