Turkey: Awaziem’s brace inspires Konyaspor to victory over Gençlerbirliği

Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem scored both goals as Konyaspor beat Gençlerbirliği 2-0 in the Turkish Super Lig on Sunday. He opened the scoring two minutes before half-time and added a close-range goal 11 minutes after the restart, following a corner the visitors failed to clear. Gençlerbirliği pushed for an equaliser, but Konyaspor held firm defensively. The win ended Konyaspor’s three-game winless run in the league.
