Turkey: Galatasaray have found a special No. 10 to solve their Osimhen problem, says Erman Özgür

Galatasaray beat Stuttgart 2-0 at Rams Park in the UEFA Champions League, with Aleksey Batrakov scoring both goals. Tivibu Spor commentator Erman Özgür said the new No. 10 can fill the gap when Victor Osimhen is absent or playing poorly. He added that Batrakov is now making a regular impact on the scoreboard and that fans should stop praising Dries Mertens.

Algeria: Luca Zidane left out by Hemdani for both matches against Togo

Algeria coach Brahim Hemdani announced his squad on November 5 for the third and fourth rounds of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, leaving out Luca Zidane. The Leganés goalkeeper, who plays in Spain’s second division, had served a two-match suspension stemming from incidents in the 2024 AFCON quarter-final against Nigeria but has had a difficult start to the season. Hemdani selected Oussama Benbot, Melvin Mastil and Abdelatif Ramdane, saying he wanted three goalkeepers with as much playing time as possible. Zidane could return to the national team if he strings together strong performances for his club.

Morocco: Fouzi Lekjaâ forced to give up a position at CAF!

Fouzi Lekjaâ is expected to resign as president of the Confederation of African Football’s finance committee, according to Jeune Afrique. The head of Morocco’s Royal Football Federation, which he has led since 2014, was recently appointed to head Morocco’s super-ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Performance. His growing government duties, along with preparations for the 2030 World Cup co-hosted by Morocco, Spain and Portugal, are reportedly behind the move; it would not mean his departure from African football. The expected resignation comes amid CAF changes, including a return to holding the Africa Cup of Nations every two years and the appointment of Nigerian Samson Adamu as secretary general.
