Turkiye arrests president, six members of football refereeing body in probe

Ferhat Gundogdu, the president of Turkey's refereeing body, and his deputy were arrested on charges of interference in refereeing procedures, including classifications, assignments, scoring, and appointments. Justice Minister Akin Gurlek stated searches were conducted at their residences, workplaces, and offices. Gurlek emphasized ongoing efforts to ensure clean football, clarify claims, and hold those responsible accountable under the law.
