Two children killed in grenade explosion in Lubero, father seriously injured

On September 28, two children were killed and their father seriously injured in Lubero, North Kivu, after handling a grenade found in a field. The explosive device, of unknown origin, was discovered in a conflict-affected area where unexploded munitions are frequently found. The local civil society calls for urgent clearance operations and increased awareness, especially among children, about the dangers of such objects. The children were buried on September 29.
