British authorities have charged two Iranian nationals, Rahman Salehi (34) and Salam Ahmadyan (36), with planning an attack against the Jewish community in Manchester. They are accused of preparing or assisting in committing a terrorist act before Yom Kippur, which began on September 20, and were in contact with an overseas third-party possibly in Iran. Police confirmed the plot was disrupted, with the suspects attempting to acquire components for an improvised explosive device and conducting reconnaissance on potential targets. They will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on Saturday.
