Two ports denied request to land 120 migrants in RNLI boats

The King's Harbour Master of Portsmouth declined a request to allow migrants into the port, as did Southampton Port. The migrants were landed at Eastney, where anti-migrant protesters blocked the road, leading to a standoff that lasted into early Monday morning. The Langstone Harbour Master stated there was no reason not to accept the landing of the vessels, but managing public order complicated the situation.
