Two Spanish soldiers assaulted in Soumbédioune, one attacker dies the next day

Two Spanish soldiers were violently assaulted on May 30 at the new fishing pier in Soumbédioune, Dakar, during an attempted robbery. The attackers, on a motorcycle, followed the victims from the Terrou-Bi hotel, and one of them attacked the soldiers with a screwdriver, slightly injuring one. Using surveillance footage, investigators identified and arrested D.S. Fall, alias 'Bily', a 23-year-old resident of Médina. His accomplice died the next day in a traffic accident.
