Two Syrian security officers killed in raid on ISIL cell near Damascus

Two members of Syria’s internal security forces were killed and five wounded in clashes with a suspected ISIL cell in Rankous, in the western Damascus countryside. The Interior Ministry said five alleged ISIL members were killed and six arrested, and that weapons and explosive belts were seized. Residents told Al Jazeera the fighting began around 6am and lasted two to three hours, while giving a lower death toll than officials. Security forces imposed a curfew and arrested several people as the government continues operations against ISIL networks.

The outbreak has killed more than 4,000 people in the DRC, while Uganda, which had cases earlier this year, has been declared Ebola-free.
