U-17 Women’s World Cup: Flamingos face North Korea in crucial clash

Nigeria will face defending champions Korea DPR in Salé/Rabat on Friday, seeking a place in the Round of 16 at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco. After losing 2-1 to Poland and beating Puerto Rico 2-0, the Flamingos will qualify with a win or draw; a defeat would leave their fate dependent on the other group match and the tiebreakers. Korea DPR have won both opening matches, scoring 12 goals and conceding one. Kick-off is set for 3 p.m. local time, and the teams’ previous tournament meetings produced a Nigerian win in 2010 and a North Korean win in 2016.
