U-17 Women's World Cup: Morocco Make a Strong Start

Morocco opened its 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup campaign with a 4-0 win over New Zealand on Saturday at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé. Sonia Abajiou opened the scoring in the 57th minute, followed by an own goal from Eden Chaytor (70th), a goal by Imane Dhissi (76th) and Hiba Youssoufi’s penalty (82nd). Morocco leads Group A on goal difference ahead of Germany, which it faces on Tuesday; another win would secure a place in the round of 16.
