Podor: Aminata Sy, high school senior, found dead and bound inside a sack

Aminata Sy, a final-year student at El Hadji Baba Ndiongue High School, was found dead on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the Lao Demba neighborhood of Podor, near the central market. Missing since the previous day, she was bound and enclosed in a sack abandoned behind an unoccupied house. Gendarmerie officers and emergency services responded, and her body was taken to the morgue at Podor health center. The local gendarmerie has opened an investigation to determine how she died and identify any possible perpetrators.
