Obi attack backlash: Nothing must happen to our son– Igbo leaders, others

The reported attack and obstruction of Peter Obi's convoy, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, in Benue State has raised concerns in the South-East. Igbo leaders and socio-cultural organizations warn that any further attack could worsen the country's political crisis ahead of the 2027 general elections. While the Benue State Government denied ordering the blockade, police have initiated an investigation, arresting 46 individuals in connection with the incident.
