Paris Masters: Djokovic eliminated in second round and out of contention for year-end ATP Finals

Novak Djokovic, the 10th seed at the Rolex Paris Masters, was eliminated in the second round by Australian qualifier Rinky Hijikata, ranked 83rd in the world. With 2,940 points in the Race to Turin before the tournament, Djokovic needed to reach at least the semifinals to stay in contention for the ATP Finals, scheduled for November 15–22. The 39-year-old will miss the Turin event after recent losses in Basel and Shanghai, despite winning his 102nd career title in Beijing this season.
