UAE investigates possible ‘terrorist’ link in attack on flight to Israel | Aviation News | Al Jazeera

The UAE’s chief prosecutor has launched an investigation into a midair altercation on a Flydubai flight to Israel, which resulted in the plane being diverted and landing in Saudi Arabia. Prosecutor Hamad Saif Al Shamsi formed a team to investigate the incident’s circumstances, motives, and possible links to terrorist activity. The flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv was diverted after a co-pilot, Indian national Smit Machchhar, was stabbed by another pilot who attempted to crash the plane, but the aircraft landed safely after emergency measures.
