UBA officer tells court how N1.6bn was allegedly transferred from Bauchi treasury

Williams Abimbola, a compliance officer with United Bank for Africa, testified in the Federal High Court in Abuja about alleged fund transfers from a Bauchi State Government sub-treasury account to the private company JASFAD Resources Enterprises. The trial involves Bauchi State Accountant-General Sirajo Muhammed Jaja and four others charged with money laundering and diversion of public funds totaling N1.635 billion. Abimbola detailed multiple transfers made between October 2024 and March 2025, amounting to millions of Naira.
