Uba Sani signs laws to transform energy, agric, climate governance

Governor Uba Sani signed three laws to overhaul energy, agriculture, and climate governance in Kaduna State. The Kaduna State Electricity Law 2026 establishes a regulatory commission to boost private investment and renewable energy. The Agricultural Development Fund (KADFund) Law 2025 provides grants and loans to farmers and agribusinesses. The Climate Change Advisory Board Law 2026 sets up a framework for climate action and sustainable development planning.

Nasarawa Assembly passes 37 Bills, goes on recess

61 Opposition Lawmakers back Ugochinyere for Minority leader

61 out of 81 opposition lawmakers in Nigeria's House of Representatives have signed a nomination backing Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere as Minority Leader, following the defection of former Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda to the ruling APC. The lawmakers from parties including NDC, ADC, APGA, PRP, Labour Party, APP, APM, SDP and Accord forwarded their decision to the Speaker for formal announcement. Ugochinyere was endorsed due to his legislative record of sponsoring over 40 bills and motions in three years. Consultations are ongoing to fill other vacant minority leadership positions such as Deputy Minority Leader and Whip.
