Uber has announced the closure of its operations in Nigeria and Uganda following a review of its business. Taxi drivers in Nigeria have long complained about low prices on the app and high commission fees. This decision comes amid growing challenges in the Nigerian market, exacerbated by rising living costs after the removal of the fuel subsidy. Uber continues to operate in four other African countries: Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa.
