Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) secured two favorable rulings from the court hearing urgent applications on Monday. In its dispute with Aliou Gningue, Cheikh Tidiane Diop and Mamour Diongue, former FASEG students expelled in 2016, the court ordered the release of the university’s seized bank accounts and ordered the claimants to pay costs; the separate dispute over five billion CFA francs remains unresolved. In a second case, the judge rejected former rector Ahmadou Aly Mbaye’s claims, which included salary arrears related to his WASCAL directorship and the return of office equipment.
