Uganda Law Society condemns abduction of Tanzanian activist Twaha Mwaipaya in Kenya

The Uganda Law Society condemned the reported abduction of Tanzanian opposition activist Twaha Mwaipaya, who was seized by unidentified individuals on 25 October 2026 in Kamulu, Machakos County, while travelling by taxi to visit friends. His whereabouts remain unknown. The society denounced a regional pattern of enforced disappearances and transnational repression, saying any case against Mwaipaya should proceed through lawful extradition and a fair trial. It urged East African courts, judicial leaders and international institutions to act against these violations.

Niger says Chadian drone strike killed two civilians
