Two men, including a British immigration officer, were jailed on Thursday for spying on behalf of Hong Kong and, ultimately, China. Chung Biu 'Bill' Yuen, 66, received an eight-year sentence, while Chi Leung 'Peter' Wai, 41, a Border Force employee, was sentenced to ten years. They were convicted of surveilling pro-democracy Hong Kong dissidents based in the UK between December 2023 and May 2024. The judge described their actions as 'truly chilling', while the Chinese embassy dismissed the case as a 'political move'.
