UK says Iran may be linked to alleged airbase plot, drawing angry denial | Crime News | Al Jazeera

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham stated there are strong indications that Iran was involved in an alleged security incident at RAF Fairford, a US-used airbase. Five British men in their 20s were arrested near the base on suspicion of terrorism and explosives offenses, then released on bail. Iran has strongly denied involvement, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticizing the UK's accusations. Burnham said the investigation is ongoing and that the UK is working closely with the US.
