UK says Russia ran submarine operation over cables and pipelines

UK Defence Secretary John Healey stated that three Russian submarines conducted a covert operation north of the UK, surveilling cables and pipelines. A British warship and aircraft were deployed to deter this activity, with no evidence of damage to UK infrastructure. Healey warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that any attempt to harm these infrastructures would be met with serious consequences.
