Ukraine calls for tighter sanctions as Russian attacks spark Kyiv gridlock

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on allies to tighten sanctions against Russia following a wave of strikes that caused gridlock in Kyiv. Key bridges, including the Southern Bridge and Paton Bridge, were closed after Russian drone attacks, with Iranian Shahed kamikaze drones striking the Southern Bridge multiple times. Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia's ability to escalate its attacks relies heavily on foreign components sourced from Europe, the US, China, and Japan, despite Moscow's efforts to produce drones locally.
