Ukraine targets Druzhba pipeline to sever Russian oil, influence in EU

Ukraine repaired the Druzhba pipeline, allowing Hungary to lift its veto on a 90 billion euro EU loan. This pipeline is crucial for Hungary and Slovakia, which rely on it for their oil supply. While Ukraine needs funds to continue its fight, Ukrainian officials like Inna Sovsun highlight the immorality of the situation where money also flows to Russia, the aggressor. In January and March 2023, the EU banned Russian seaborne oil but made an exception for pipeline oil.
