Ukraine: Trump promises to publish “the details” of the war at some point

Asked in Washington on Friday, October 16, 2026, about Vladimir Putin’s role in the war in Ukraine, Donald Trump promised to publish “the details” of the conflict at an unspecified time, without explaining what they would contain. CBS News correspondent Gabe Gutierrez had reminded him of his criticism of Ukraine and Volodymyr Zelensky, and asked whether he had forgotten that Putin started the war. Trump did not directly address the question, saying instead that his only concern was ending the conflict. He said he was dealing with both leaders and believed the war would end.
