Ultra-processed foods: a petition launched in France for better regulation

On April 28, 2026, representatives from the Yuka app and associations Foodwatch and France Assos Santé launched a petition to regulate ultra-processed foods in France. They are calling for stricter marketing regulations and mandatory labeling, as over 60% of packaged foods in France are considered ultra-processed. These products account for 34.2% of adults' dietary intake and 49.3% for children. A bill has been proposed to make the display of the Nutri-Score mandatory in advertising.
